August 21, 2020: Ameren Illinois has announced a partnership with Google, for a limited period, to offer residential consumers with access to Google Nest Thermostat E smart thermostat at a discounted price and even free of charge in some cases. Ameren Illinois, based in Collinsville, Illinois is a regulated electric and gas distribution corporation.
Earlier in the month of June, Ameren Illinois announced that it was expanding its relief measures for the consumers who have been financially affected by COVID-19 pandemic. Ameren Illinois released its COVID-19 Economic Hardship Recovery Program to offer convenient payment solutions for customers. Moreover, they came up with a direct bill payment support for the consumers who are struggling to pay their electricity bills. The company is now taking a step further by partnering with Google by supporting customers to reduce their total energy consumption and reduce future energy bills. Users of Nest Thermostat E save an average of up to 12 per cent on heating costs and up to 15 per cent on cooling costs depending on its application, as per Google.
Thermostats are a great way for users to better manage energy usage and costs. The users can adjust the device on the go by using their Smartphone application in these devices. Moreover, most of the smart thermostat models can sense when the residents are not present in the house and then it automatically modifies the temperature which results in lowering energy usage. This offer will be available for a limited time span only on the Ameren Illinois Marketplace up to September 15. Residential consumers with an Ameren Illinois heating source are also eligible to get a number of other smart thermostat brands at minimal or free of charge. Consumers can access these devices in two different ways namely Smart Savers Initiative and Online Marketplace.
