USA, Aug 13, 2020 -- Dropbox is officially releasing a new set of consumer features along with new tools that can help businesses function more efficiently. These features were also a part of their beta version which was released earlier this year.

Dropbox Vault, Dropbox Passwords, and Computer Backup have been created with just one thing in mind – to keep your accounts and files organized in one place in a convenient manner. These features were launched in beta and now they have been included in all of the Dropbox Plus plans.

According to an announcement made by the company, Dropbox’s new password manager, secure vault for sensitive files and even the backup feature for computers will be available for the users globally from Wednesday. Not everyone will have access to these features unless and until one is on a certain paid Dropbox tier. The features were first revealed to the public on June 16th but were launched on beta mode at that time.

Dropbox Passwords which is the official password manager can store passwords and logins which one uses around the web. It can also autofill these when one is signing into different websites. The feature will work on Android, Mac, iOS, and Windows and can also sync passwords across all devices. Dropbox Passwords will be available on paid plans of Dropbox Plus and Professional.

The second feature that has been released is the Dropbox Vault. This allows a user to create a location in Dropbox with an additional layer of security that can keep your sensitive files safe. A PIN is used to keep your vault protected; vaults can only be opened from the Dropbox.com and Dropbox mobile app. This feature will be available for Dropbox Plus users.

The final feature is called the Dropbox Computer Backup. This allows users to create backups of certain important folders like Desktop, Downloads, and Documents on their Mac or PC. This feature is available for all Dropbox users.
