Boulder, Colorado, September 16, 2020: Global technology and engineering company, Emerson has recently introduced a new Micro Motion™ Coriolis flow meter to deliver highly accurate and reliable ultra-high-pressure solutions that can withstand the most extreme pressure thresholds.
The Micro Motion™ Coriolis HPC015 flow meter has the capacity to deliver a flow accuracy rating of 0.5% for gas and 0.1% for liquid mass flow measurement. It is ideal for high-pressure hydrogen dispensing and chemical injection applications where measurement accuracy and safety are crucial. The new flow meter is an upgraded version of the company’s current meters and is capable of performing under varied pressure range and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, its new features also help to save time and money by reducing the need for pre-inspections or interim maintenance checks.
The HPC015 flow meter is available in three ranges of pressure i.e., 482 bar (6,991 psi), 963 bar (13,960 psi), and 1,060 bar (15,374 psi), allowing extra flexibility to determine the proper pressure limit for each use. The meter is mainly used for measuring the flow of hydrogen gas in a reliable and accurate way to effectively save cost on a large scale. It is also used in various high-pressure environments such as injecting methanol, corrosion inhibitors, and others.
Hydrogen is a renewable energy source that is available in a large quantity. Storing hydrogen at a very high pressure of around 963 bars can be very challenging at times, especially when it comes to storing, producing, and dispensing the gas in a safe and effective way. As a result, the demand for flow meters is rising, backed by the extensive use of flow meters in fertilizers, glass and metal production, fuel cells for low-emission vehicles, as well as in the energy sector.
Founded in 1890, Emerson is a public company that specializes in varied domains such as industrial automation, technology, and engineering, internet-of-things, food waste solutions, stem, and sustainable energy, among others. According to Emerson’s latest financial report, the company generated total sales of USD 3,914 million during Q3 2020 as compared to the previous year’s revenue of the same period, which was USD 4,684 million, a decline by (-) 16% Y-o-Y. The gross profit also declined by (-) 19% Y-o-Y to USD 1,618 million as compared to the previous year, which was USD 2,001 million. It is evident from the above figures that the company’s operation was impacted heavily due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
