Mumbai, September 7, 2020: On Sunday, i.e., September 6, 2020, Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited declared that it had signed for orders valued at AUD 300 million in Australia. The company has acquired two massive solar projects in Australia, and the total installed capacity will be more than 300 MW. As per the company, these new projects have been bagged from global independent power producers, and the work on these projects will begin immediately.
Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited is one of the global leaders of solar EPC and O&M, and at present, it owns three projects in Australia, of more than 800 MW that are under development.
The Director and Global CEO of the company, Mr. Bikesh Ogra, shared his happiness for securing two major solar projects in Australia. According to him, the company’s present contracts in Australia are about AUD 1.2 billion that includes five projects and a 1.1 GW plus portfolio, which makes Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited the most significant player in home-grown solar EPC in the region. He further added that the company aims to sustain the leading position in the EPC segment and add to its mission of clean energy.
On June 26, the US subsidiary of Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited secured a contract worth USD 99 million to build a 194 MW project in the USA. It has also declared its financial results for the year ending March 31, 2020, according to which the revenue from operations is Rs. 5,575 crores. The revenue for the quarter is Rs. 2,061 crores and profit after tax is Rs. 129 crores. Alongside this, the order inflows have also increased by 15% compared to that of last year, to Rs. 9,048 crores.
Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited is a global leader and owns more than 10.6 GW of solar power projects worldwide. The company is also manufacturing the 1,177 MW Solar PV plant in Abu Dhabi, the largest single-site solar plant in the world.
